We're Running a 6-Week AI Engineering Bootcamp with DataJourneyHQ

Arcnem AI and DataJourneyHQ are partnering on a hands-on, 6-week bootcamp focused on building and shipping production AI systems.

ai-agents education collaboration

We’ve partnered with DataJourneyHQ to run a 6-week AI engineering bootcamp. The tagline says it well: where prompts evolve into systems.

Why This Exists

Most AI education stops at the API call. Import a library, hit an endpoint, get a response. That’s the easy part. The hard part is everything after—designing architectures, managing costs, handling failures, deploying reliably, and building something people actually use.

We’ve run into all of these at Arcnem AI. DataJourneyHQ has been doing the same work from the education side. Combining both perspectives made sense.

What It Covers

Cohort 01 starts March 25, 2026. Six weeks, fully remote, budget-capped. You deploy within seven days.

  • Week 1: Reality Check & First Ship — Name the failure modes. Estimate the cost. Ship a live CrewAI tool before Sunday. (Budget: <$5)
  • Week 2: Market Alignment — Rebuild without the framework. Feel what CrewAI hid. Ship a demo a real user can try. (Budget: <$10)
  • Week 3: Tooling & RAG — Your demo has no memory. Build the retrieval layer with embeddings and pgvector. Evaluate buy vs. build for every tool. (Budget: <$20)
  • Week 4: AI Pipelines & Agents — Move AI off the request path. Event-driven workflows, agent graphs, your first MCP tool. (Budget: <$50)
  • Week 5: Reliability & Deployment — Retries, tracing, containers. Make your pipeline handle failures and run somewhere real. (Budget: <$100)
  • Week 6: Capstone — Your problem. Your stack. Your call. Define a goal, ship a working system, present it to the cohort.

Design Principles

The program runs on four pillars:

Design before code. Think about the system before writing anything. What fails? What costs money? What does the user actually need?

Ship every week. You deploy something by the end of week one. Even if it’s rough. Iteration beats perfection, and the habit of shipping is more valuable than any single project.

Stay under budget. Every API call, every infrastructure choice gets tracked. If you can’t build something viable at small scale, more money won’t fix it.

Own your failures. Learn from real production war stories. The failures that cost real money, not sanitized case studies.

Who It’s For

Anyone who’s past the tutorial phase and wants to build real things. You don’t need a machine learning background. You do need to be comfortable writing code and willing to ship weekly.
